Cross Country Awards Banquet

On November 15, the Trojan Cross Country team held its annual banquet and awards ceremony. The following awards were given:

Outstanding Junior Varsity runners: Ethan Buck and Mary Anna Trimble

Outstanding Service awards: Will Almon and Bailey Thompson

Sportsmanship awards: Zach Granger and Taylor Burkhart

Leadership awards: Micah Clotfelter and Suzanne Marsh

Recognition of all state qualifiers: Zach Granger, Micah Clotfelter, Jordan Collum, Will Almon, and Zach Granger, Mackenna Walker and Stella Haase

Senior recognition and farewell: Will Almon, Micah Clotfelter, and Mackenna Walker

Trojan Swimmers

The Trojan swim team has had a great season! Abby Newton & Abby Grace Summers both earned sectional times. Sectional prelims will be Friday, November 16th and the finals will be held on Saturday, November 17th. These two Trojan Swimmers have the opportunity to advance to the state meet on November 30th.

Trojan Marching Band Takes 6A State Championship Title

On November 3, James F. Moore Stadium hosted the first ever state marching band competition. Competing in Class 6A against Athens, Buckhorn, and Pelham, the Trojan Marching Band took the blue map and was crowned 6A State Champion!

Football Advances to Round 2 Tonight at Pinson Valley

Last week, the Trojans experienced a thrilling win against Minor as 8th grader Trey Stoddard kicked a game winning field goal to advance the Trojans to Round 2 of the AHSAA playoffs. The Trojans travel to Pinson Valley tonight.

If you missed the MSHS Show Choir's performance of "The Greatest Show," you missed a treat! Mrs. Bradford and our very talented students outdid themselves. They continue to raise the bar for the arts in the Shoals area.

Coach Maggie Finley and the Lady Trojans had the best volleyball season since 2014! After clinching the Area 15 Championship, the team fought their way through super-regionals in Huntsville and secured their spot in the AHSAA State Volleyball tournament in Birmingham!

Seniors, Balfour will be here during lunch Tuesday, November 27th to take cap and gown orders. Be sure to check your school email from an important message from Mrs. Veal about ordering graduation supplies! We have extra order packets in the guidance office or you can go to:

Remember that even if you do not wish to order invitations or any of the other senior items you will need to order #77 on the order form. This is the cap, gown, tassel, diploma and diploma cover.

December 18 - - 1st & 2nd Block Exams

December 19 - - 3rd & 4th Block Exams

Students will be told if they exempt exams by Friday, December 14. An absence on Review Day, December 17, counts as an absence but does not count against exam exemption. Students may check-out after their exam reviews on December 17 WITH A NOTE FROM A PARENT/GUARDIAN.

Life 101 Seminars

After the WorkKeys assessment on November 7, we offered seminars to seniors that we called “Life 101.” We had several community partners on hand to offer some real life expertise in a variety of areas! Thanks to Jill Chambers with UNA, David DeSantis with Toyota of the Shoals, Steve Shelton with Re/Max Tri-State Realtors, Jerra Dover Burden with First Metro Bank, Jason Phillips with Youth Leadership Shoals, entrepreneur Melanie Turner, Tosha Paige Whitten with Listerhill and Jr. League of the Shoals, and our own Holli Akins Gaston (former attorney and current English teacher) for your expertise and participation in these sessions. Lots of real-world topics presented to our seniors on this day. #TakeChances (See photos below)

Prom Date: May 11, 2019

The prom fee is discounted to $125 until December 19th. After the Christmas break, the fee goes up to $150. Each junior is responsible for the prom fee in order to attend and it covers BOTH junior and senior year. If you are a senior who paid (or raised money) and attended last year, you owe nothing this year! See Mrs. Ryan,, if you have questions.
