What's happening in Berkman's School Counseling Program?
When we each do a little, it means a lot!
Last month in my classroom visits, I asked students to write down one thing they can do to make our school a great place to be. The result is a huge paper chain to remind us that little things add up!
Guidance Lesson Recap - November 10-21
For this round of guidance lessons, we are focusing on ourselves - what makes each of us special, and how we should celebrate that! We read books such as It's Okay to Be Different by Todd Parr and I Like Me! by Nancy Carlson. We reflected on how important it is to think and say nice things to ourselves and about ourselves. We also made lists of positive words we can use to describe ourselves.
Congratulations to Ms. Yau's 3rd grade class for earning the "Bee Inquisitive" award for asking really great questions about college and career of our Principal for a Day guest. Ms. Duffy's 2nd grade class earned the "Bee Tech-Savvy" award for their impressive use of tablets during a writing lesson. The "Bee Responsible" award was won by both Ms. Hurtado's Kindergarten class and Ms. Gomez's 4th grade class. Congratulations, and keep up the good work!
