Mother and four children destroyed by microwave fire - seven hours after it was last used

Kat Bailey, 31, and her young family have been left homeless after the microwave is believed to have set on fire from its own cord.

  1. Read owners manual
  2. water and electricity don't mix- cords
  3. avoid damage to electrical cords- tugging on cords, stapling, or burning them.
