The name of our zoo is the Florida Zoo. We are located in Orlando. The zoo is located here because Orlando is a tourist destination in Florida.
Our main attraction is the area we call the "Mini Everglades." We have 20 crocodiles that visitors can see from tunnels under the swamp, glass bridges that go over the exhibit, or over the rails on the sides. We have facts about the crocodiles around the area. Some of the facts are that crocodiles are closely related to dinosaurs and birds, and that crocodiles have been around for 240 million years.
Our zoo also features other animals, including monkeys. Did you know that monkeys can range from 6 inches to 3 feet in length, or that there are 264 known monkey species. Our zoo also has leopards, which can live up to 17 years, and that they have a gestation period of 90-105 days. The total costs for all our animals was $999,000.
