Message from the Principal
RMS Families,
Thank you for your partnership in our efforts to continue student learning during the school closure. We have been grateful for your feedback and family connection through April and now over half of May, and we look forward to continued connection as we help students to complete the last 4 weeks of learning before summer break.
Our teachers and staff are continuing to refine our process and make the necessary adjustments to provide challenging and meaningful lessons but also be mindful of student and family struggles to manage their time and school and work throughout the week. Teachers will be working to limit whole-class communication of lessons to once per week and then communicate feedback as needed. Teachers are also mindful to limit lessons to a total of 2.5 hours of student work time per week, per class.
If you as a family are struggling with completing or managing your workload or if you have barriers that you want school staff to be aware of, please email your student’s counselor or myself so that we can help.
A couple weeks ago, all families received information on what grading will look like during the school closure. Though all middle school students who are not in high school credit courses will not receive a traditional letter grade for Semester 2, their transcripts will reflect their proficiency on learning standards and their effort to connect with learning during the school closure. Eighth graders in high school credit courses will earn an A, B, C, or "I" for Incomplete.
See more details on grading here: https://www.ycs.wednet.edu/Page/3696
Our RMS families have been doing a great job at communicating with teachers and managing their lessons. Don’t give up now! Keep going through the next 4 weeks. While we do not yet know what August and September will bring for schools, we want to concentrate now on finishing the year with strong academic learning to lead us into summer.
Thank you again for all of your efforts and endurance in this difficult time for students and schools. We recognize the amazing character of our community, and we appreciate you all!

RMS & Elementary Staff Parades
Ridgeline Staff joined Lackamas, Mill Pond and Prairie Elementary in staff parades to show how much they miss their students and families. In a safe and distancing manner, staff were able to drive with caring posters and signs and were received with the warmest of welcome by families who safely waved from their homes and sidewalks.
This was a happy and heartfelt event that was enjoyed by all!!!
