Lindsey Weekly Update
Week of May 18th
Morning Announcements
Mrs. Bellan's Message
We are getting down to our last few weeks. Thanks for hanging in there with us! This upcoming week we hope you can join us for our car parade! It will be a nice opportunity for students and staff to be able to see each other in a way that hopefully will contribute to some closure for this academic school year.
We thank our generous PTO who purchased signs for every 5th-grade student to be displayed prominently in their yard to acknowledge their success. Congratulations to all of our 5th graders!
During the weeks of May 25th and June 1st, teachers will not be assigning new instruction. The intention of this time is for kids to complete the IXL diagnostic grades 1-5 in Reading and Mathematics and to catch up on any outstanding classwork. Please have all work to the classroom teacher no later than June 4th, as grades will be posted on June 5th.
Please see Mrs. Clucas' message about supply pickup that has been arranged for the week of June 1st. If you are unable to attend the scheduled time, please contact Mrs. Clucas at colleen.clucas@westg.org and she will help you find another time that works better. We are hoping to get as many of our instructional materials returned so if you have any school materials, please put them in a bag marked with the teacher whom they belong to. We will be sure to get these materials in the hands of the correct staff member.
Attention Fifth Grade Families
Please try to have all pictures submitted to Mr. Kish by Friday, May 29, 2020.

Additionally, I have created a quick video to help give the rationale of why we are doing this as well as step families through how to access this. See below!
BAND INFORMATION
As you know the yearly in-person band presentation was not possible this year, Mrs. DeSapri has developed a new portion of our West Geauga Band website that contains information about the 5th grade band program, instrument demonstrations, and an online sign up form.
The website and new 5th grade band page can be viewed here! - https://sites.google.com/westg.org/westgeaugabands/home
Incoming 5th grade families below is some information to read if you want your student in band for the 20-21 school year.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. DeSapri -5th grade band teacher at taylor.desapri@westg.org.
Counselor's Corner
Dear Parents,
Hopefully your sons/daughters have been enjoying our career videos this past couple of weeks. It has been wonderful to watch their responses and hear about their future plans. We have a lot of ambitious students! We will hopefully have a couple more to post before the year's end.
Our fifth-grade students will have the opportunity to Zoom with our Middle School Principal, Mr. Ron Dahlhofer, and our Middle School Counselor, Mrs. Dusty Timmons along with a couple of Sixth Grade students next Tuesday, May 26th. Mrs. Ehrbar will be sending Zoom Invitations for each Fifth Grade class. Please don't miss this opportunity for your child to be able to ask questions, and hear some helpful information about their transition to middle school.
I also wanted to pass along an article that I found quite helpful regarding parent self-care. With all of the new demands and uncertainties we are facing, taking care of ourselves is critical to enable us to care for our children. I hope you find it helpful.
For Parents
Please take care of yourselves, and know that we are here for your families. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Best,

ATTENTION ALL WEST GEAUGA FAMILIES
Thank you for your kind words and support of our Senior Class. Our district has planned a beautiful graduation ceremony that balances our health and safety with our desire to celebrate our seniors' accomplishments. Because they will be unable to take part in Prom and After Prom, the After Prom Committee decided to divide the money we collected through fundraising this year among all of our seniors and present them with a gift card to be included in their diploma envelopes. Would you like to help us increase the dollar amount of the gift cards? Please consider making a donation to the West Geauga After Prom. Any amount is appreciated. We only have this week to collect donations.
Please submit donations by Friday, May 22, 2020.
You can send checks made out to
