Weekly Update
This Week In Preschool! October 27th- November 2nd
Preschool Updates
As you may have seen today, we have installed a new doorbell on our FRONT door. Within the next couple of days, we will begin a new safety procedure here at the school. We will be keeping the front door locked, and you must ring the doorbell. A staff member or myself will come open it for you. This is with the exception of drop off and pick up times, (between about 8:00am-8:20am, 12:00-12:15pm, and 2:45-3:00pm) where we will keep the door unlocked for the flow of traffic to come in and out. This is very similar to what we are already doing with our hallway door, but we are moving the locked door to our main front door for extra safety. I am so excited to put this into place very soon, and feeling the security of knowing who is coming on and off property, especially when I am not sitting at my desk to screen who comes in the front door. I will send an email letting you know when we will begin this, which will be as soon as we get a few internet connections fixed). As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns with this new procedure.
Our Halloween Party turned out to be such a blast! Almost everyone was able to make it out, everyone looked amazing in their costumes, and there were so many fun arts and crafts that were made, and great games were played with many cool prizes! I want to thank all of our parents who helped set up for this event, specifically Rhiannon, Katelyn, Cynthia, and Monica who spent a good chunk of their Thursday helping us set up! Thank you to everyone who donated decorations, food items, or drinks for our party, and thank you to everyone who stayed and helped us clean up. Lastly, all of our shrubs out front looked adorable! We loved every single one of them!
Friendly reminder to NOT come to school this Thursday, 10/31/19, in Halloween Costumes.
This Friday, 11/1/19 is All Saints Day. We will not be attending Mass, as the Elementary School will be walking to St. Mary's Church. We will be in the Chapel at 8:30 am for our teachers to present some Saints to our children!
** NO SCHOOL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11th IN OBSERVANCE OF VETERAN'S DAY ** This was not on our calendar, but please make sure to add it.
Our picture make up date is set for Tuesday, November 19th at 8:00 am. If your child did not have their photo taken, please bring them in on this date.
Our Preschool Thanksgiving Picnic is Thursday, November 21st from 10:45 am to 11:45 am.
Please see below for more information.
Let us know if you have any questions.
In Christ,
Miss Jordan Jackson
Happy Halloween!
I hope you all have a SAFE and FUN Halloween this year! We have been talking to the children about safety this week... how we always stay with our parents if we go trick or treating, and how we should have our parents check our candy before eating it.
Since we were able to wear costumes and have a blast celebrating at our Halloween Party, we ask that your children not wear costumes to school on Halloween. It is tough to play and learn at preschool all day when we are worrying about costumes! :)

Operation Christmas Child
***PRESCHOOLERS CAN BRING ANY ITEM OFF THE LIST BELOW***
This year our school will be spreading joy, happiness, and sharing God's love by giving gifts and necessities to children around the world! We have been given 400 shoe boxes from The Samaritan's Purse for their Operation Christmas Child project. The Samaritan's Purse project Operation Christmas collects shoe box gifts- filled with fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items- and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoe box is the FIRST gift they have ever received.
What do we need from you? Well we need to fill these boxes! This year we have four hundred boxes to fill! The boxes are divided by boys and girls and three different age groups: boys and girls from ages 2-4, boys and girls ages 5-9, and boys and girls ages 10-14. To ensure all the children from all the age groups have been accounted for we will be assigning each grade an age group and a category of items to bring into their classroom. Attached you will find a list of items of suggestions that we need to fill the boxes with. They are arranged in categories: "a wow" item, personal care items, clothing and accessories, crafts and activities, toys, and we ask that each class provide a personal note from the students! Your teachers will have a large box in their classrooms that you can put your items in during the month of October.
Please pay close attention to the "NOT RECOMMENDED ITEMS"-Most of these children live in rural countries and even things like superheroes or guns may be scary to them. Keep the items simple.
The "Packing Party" will be THIS Friday, November 1st from 9:30am-10:30am on All Saints Day. Thank you so much for joining us spread God's love and Christmas cheer to those in need!
