PTSO Fundraiser- North Texas Giving Day

This North Texas Giving Day, please support the New Tech PTSO! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and all money raised will stay at New Tech to benefit our learners and facilitators. We use this money to buy things for classrooms that aren't provided in the school's budget and to invest in technology that keeps New Tech one of the most unique high school experiences in North Texas. This year is set to be a record breaking year for North Texas Giving Day, with over 3,000 participating nonprofits! When you give on 9.19.19, please remember to visit our page at Any amount is greatly appreciated, but our goal would be met with as little as $25/family. Do you have friends and family who would like to support your learner's campus??? Sharing the link is easy!

Job Shadow and Internship Hosts Needed

Dear New Tech Parents,

We are looking for help in providing job shadowing experiences for our junior and senior learners. As part of our graduation requirements learners participate in career exploration by shadowing professionals in an occupation of their choice. Learners and their families are primarily responsible for finding these opportunities but several have requested help in this process.

If you, or someone you know, would be willing to host a learner for 10 to 15 hours at your place of business, please let me know! We have students interested in a variety of careers, so any occupation could be a possibility for a valuable experience for a learner. In particular, we have a large number of learners who want to shadow in the areas of programming or game design, engineering, medicine, law, graphic design, marketing, business/finance and psychology. Thank you for your support as we work to ensure our graduates are college and career ready.

Parents: Volunteer to Help with Networking Olympics

Please remember that you must fill out the district background check in advance to help!!!! Networking Olympics is the first big bonding day on campus for our Network Teams. It's like a field day but way more fun and with some indoor activities!

Planners, Stickers, Washi Tape, Etc.

Hello parents!

I am looking for a few donations of items to our Friday Planners sessions. We have several learners who are using paper planners this year and we have had requests for more supplies! If you are like me and buy WAY more of these items than you need for yourself and would be willing to donate sticker books, washi tape, sticker pages, etc. Please send all items to the front office for Ms. Batik. Thank you!

Join PTSO!!!!

You can get a head start and join PTSO for next school year now! You can also donate money to write a check (our main PTSO fundraiser). Please note, the school supply fee did not include a PTSO membership.

Coppell ISD Volunteer Background Check

We utilize a lot of parents each year to evaluate projects, work events, or come in as guest speakers. Please make sure you take the time to fill out this form so that we can use you as needed this year!

Reminder: No Lunch Delivery Services

Just a reminder to all families (since we reminded the learners this past week during our school procedures/discipline talks) that learners and parents may not send lunch deliveries to school via services like UberEats, Door Dash, restaurant delivery, etc. This is both for the security of our school and staff and also so our front office can operate efficiently.

Thank you!

AP Exam Ordering ****New Process For This Year****

In person collection dates are:

September 16th-20th

October 28th- 31st

Online payment goes live September 3rd-October 31st.

Schoolpay will be available starting in September for payments and will stay open through October 31st.

College Board has changed the way that learners register for AP exams this year and we want to make that process as painless as we can for you.

The first thing to note is that College Board has created online resources for learners to access materials that enhance their work in classes. All AP facilitators will be sharing join codes with their learners this week to help them get set up in that system. Before learners are able to join classes though, they will need to sign up for or remember their myap college board account. Information on how to access or set up their accounts is available here.

When learners join with the class codes online, they will need to select whether they intend to take the test. Learners are able to change their minds on that question, but this will give us a good head count of who is actually planning on taking the AP exam.

Registering and Paying For Exams

Regular registration ends on October 31st. The fee to take the test is $94 and can be paid online using SchoolPay or in person on designated dates (Dates will be posted at the beginning of September and will include some dates in September and October). We can not separate the fee into different payments and will need to collect the entire fee for each exam at one time. If you need assistance with payment for financial reasons, please let us know. Please understand we will not be able to give refunds after October 31st. Learners who register for exams after October 31st will have to pay an additional $40 for registration and must do so by March 4th. I know that is a steep late fee but that is what College Board assesses us for a late fee.

Use This Link to Pay for AP EXAMS (except AP Seminar)

This link will go live September 3rd

Building Hours

A reminder to everyone that our school doors open at 8am and learners need to be out of the building by 4:45pm (unless staying with a club and the sponsor is present). We will go over this and other safety info during our grade-level meetings as a part of your First Week Projects.

Parent drop off loop is on the North side of the building (where the faculty parking lot is). Please utilize this loop as the front if where our buses
