Change for Bailey
A Fundraiser for Bailey Gray
Calling All Elks!
Elkin Middle School seventh grader Bailey Gray was diagnosed last year with ADL, a rare brain disease. He underwent a bone marrow transplant last year and must return to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, several times each year.
For one year, insurance covered 100% of Bailey’s medical expenses, but now the family is responsible for a portion of his fees. Bailey, who was very athletic, now requires a wheelchair and is looking at possible knee replacement surgery (a complication from powerful medications).
Elkin Middle & High School students- we need your help! East Wilkes Middle School has challenged us to see who can raise the most change for Bailey. All week, we will be collecting Change for Bailey. EMS Beta members will go around to classes between 7:45-8:00 a.m. with buckets to collect change- paper is also welcome! We will also collect during lunch and break.
Elkin City Schools has an opportunity to rally behind Bailey and show him how much we care! Together we can all make a big Change for Bailey!
Friends of Bailey are sponsoring a pork BBQ luncheon this Saturday, November 3, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Elkin. Many items have been purchased/ donated, with the exception of the hams. We need $320.00 to cover these, and then all proceeds from the sale of the $7.00 tickets will go the family to assist with Bailey’s medical expenses. If you would like to purchase a ticket, please contact Emily Morrison at the middle school by Wednesday, October 31.
