Classroom Happenings

February is Here

Can you believe it is already February? With the new month, it looks like Phil may have been right, it feel a bit like Spring is here!

Valentines Day

Valentines Day will be here before we know it! Our classroom party is planned for Thursday, February 11th at 2:00 pm.

I will have some special activities planned for our class and the students will have a chance to pass out their Valentine Cards to their classmates.

One thing we will do that morning is decorate our Valentine Treat Bags, so there is no need for you to supply a bag or box.

Lastly, I know it is very exciting to address valentine cards and most families ask for a copy of our class list in order to do so. This year I am asking that you please leave the "to" section of the card blank or put something like "my friend" and simply write or have your child write their name in the "from" section. It is VERY difficult logistics wise to have 22 students each pass out 22 cards when they are addressed to individual students. Thank you for your understanding.

I don't usually plan for a big treat for the Valentine's Party since so many cards have treats with them. However, if you would like to send/bring something you are more than welcome.

One Hundred Days of School

The 100th day of school is fast approaching. Since it is a Kindergarten Mathematics goal to be able to count by 1's to 100 we do a lot on the 100th day of school. As of right now, the 100th Day of School is Thursday, February 18th and we will be celebrating all day long!

Until then, if you are interested in sending in a zip close bag with 100 items it to display in our room, we would appreciate it!

Be creative...100 Q-Tips...100 toothpicks...100 mints...100 buttons... 100 plastic spoons... be sure to put your name on the bag so we can talk about it in class (if you would like the items you send in returned please let me know).
