Fifth Grade Findings

Fifth Graders have been busy learning! Here's what they're learning in each subject:


ELA - figurative language, story structure, and narrative writing

MLG&W VISITS LIS FOURTH GRADE!

Two engineers from Memphis Light, Gas, & Water spoke to our fourth graders Wednesday, October 13 in the band hall. Ms. Allison Strawn, a mechanical engineer (and LIS mom) brought her co-worker Mr. Thomas Causey, an electrical engineer, to speak to students about electricity! Mr. Causey found out that students already know a little about electricity from their science class, but he expanded their knowledge of circuits, voltage, and conductors and insulators in a fun way! He warned students about the dangers of electricity and how we can conserve electricity by turning down the thermostat in our houses. Take a look at the pictures and video below to learn more.
