That means every child, teacher, librarian, and parent in Georgia are sharing a single account that provides you with unlimited access to myON’s enhanced digital books, 24 hours a day—every day—through Aug. 31. Virtual Field Trip: Entrepreneurship in Georgia
Explore the history and expansion of 5 major Georgia companies
Entrepreneurship in Georgia is a virtual field trip that is an interactive learning experience. It takes students on an exploration of Georgia's unique economy, building them through five of the state's largest companies and explaining each firm's inception and business history, including expansion, economic impact, charitable endeavors, and much more. Features of this field trip include video footage, picture galleries, interactive maps, fun facts, and a teacher user guide.
Georgia Tech Educator Showcase:
The 5th annual showcase will be on Thursday, May 11th and will include an interactive poster session, a panel discussion, and opportunities for networking.
This event will be located at the GTRI Conference Center, 250 14th Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
Jazz Night at the High Museum
You and a guest are invited on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for Jazz Night at the High Museum!
Come out and learn more about the Georgia Department of Education’s partnership with the High Museum, experience the museum’s renowned collection of classic and contemporary artwork, listen to live jazz, and receive a SWAG BAG full of goodies to support visual literacy instruction. On this night, as a part of The Atlanta Jazz Festival’s 40 Days of Jazz, the High Museum of Art will feature Tyrone Jackson, William Menefield, Alex Gordon, and Kebbi Williams and the Wolfpack.
Members from the GaDOE ELA/Literacy team and the High Museum School and Teacher Services team will meet you in The Green Family Education Center from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. where you will have an opportunity to talk with the teams and receive your free SWAG Bag!
This celebration of YOU is free of charge through our collaboration with Georgia Public Broadcasting, Metro RESA, and The High Museum.*

*This is a free event; however, parking at the High Museum parking garage is $15.00. You can prepay ($20.00, includes $1.00 service fee) for guaranteed parking or take MARTA to the Arts Center Station.
Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop
The 2017 Georgia Teacher Conservation Workshop is the premier forestry and environmental education workshop for teachers and educators in Georgia. This year, the workshop will be held on June 19-23, 2017, at Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center and will focus on topics related to the benefits of forestry, including the cycle of growing trees, the utilization of trees for common consumer products and the management of trees for water and wildlife
Participants are certified in Project Learning Tree, Project WILD and Project WET.
Each attendee will receive a certificate of course completion and a $100 check upon completion of a follow up activity. The workshop is recommended for Georgia educators of grades 5-12, but other educators may apply. Sponsors underwrite all field trips, event lodging, meals and teacher resource kits, and the registration fee for participants is only $50.
