Home Fire Campaign in Manassas Park
Join your local Red Cross and help install smoke alarms!
Saturday, April 25th
According to the U.S. Fire Administration, 369 people have lost their lives in a fire in their home since the beginning of the year.
The American Red Cross Home Fire Preparedness Campaign is taking aim at this tragic statistic by working to reduce the number of deaths and injuries from home fires in this country by as much as 25 percent over the next five years.
Since the campaign launched this past October, seven lives have already been saved. Working with fire departments and community groups nationwide, hundreds of Red Cross employees and volunteers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico have installed thousands of smoke alarms in communities across the country.
This initiative now comes to Manassas Park, VA, and we need the help of our community! You're invited to join us. Your employees can join us in this day of service to contribute to our life-saving mission. In conjunction with our Home Fire Preparedness Campaign, the Red Cross launched a new social media campaign called #GiveWhatFireTakes. You can contribute to our local Loudoun and Prince William Counties Team campaign by either donating to one of the existing team members' fundraisers or creating your own fundraiser and getting your friends and family to donate. $10 provides two blankets to victims of fire and $30 helps install two smoke alarms.
Saving lives is what matters. The video below is one of survival and how we then help families with their recovery.
