School Nurse teams up with the Lions Club to do Vision Screening
With the help of the Cadott Lions Club we were able to screen 320 kids in the elementary school using a Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener on December 11th, 2017. We are scheduled to screen the 7th and 10th grade students at the Jr/Sr High School on January 3rd, 2018.
Vision disability is one of the most prevalent conditions among children. One out of four children suffer from vision problems. With this new technology it is much easier and quicker to screen children for a variety of possible vision problems.
The Spot Vision Screener can screen for and detect six amblyopic risk factors in children as young as 6 months.
• Myopia (nearsightedness)
• Hyperopia (farsightedness)
• Astigmatism (blurred vision)
• Anisometropia (unequal refractive power)
• Strabismus (eye misalignment)
• Anisocoria (unequal pupil size)
Parents are notified of any children that are found to have concerns and it is recommended that they follow-up with their doctor for further evaluation.
Thank you again to our Cadott Lions Club for their commitment to helping our school and community!
Thank you,
Jessica Hager, RN

Cub scouts always have a blast during the school year! We hike, go camping, go fishing, play sports, build projects and visit all sorts of cool places! There’s also the ever-popular Pinewood Derby in the Spring, in which boys design, build, decorate and race their very own cars against other boys in the Pack! One thing is for sure, no matter what our Cub Scouts are up to, we have FUN!
As Cub Scouts, boys will learn about many things, including citizenship, physical fitness, outdoor skills, sharing, teamwork, self-confidence, respect for others and good character. Cub Scouts is open to boys in Kindergarten through Fifth grade this fall (ages 5-11).
