Memorial Memo!
News & Updates for our Little Devils Families
Week Ending 9/15/23
Dear MES Families!
We had a wonderful full week of school and were excited to welcome our preschoolers.
All students reviewed Bus Rider Expectations with me this week. We watched a brief video and then reviewed the expectation of being a safe bus reader (see the image below). Please reinforce with your child before they get on the bus each morning that they should stay seated in their seat and safe.
We've also been working on our dismissal at the end of the day, especially now that we've adjusted the busses so that we have our full instructional day and are dismissing at 3:05 which is the time our school day should end. Thank you for your patience as we have worked through this.
Please remember to return all of your back to school forms. If you need another copy, please contact Mrs. Hubert in the office.
Love,
Mrs. French

Notes from Nurse Mona
Students sometimes get messy and wet while playing hard at school. Please be prepared by having an extra set of clothes in a bag in the bottom of your child's backpack. This is will make it easy to find them in the event we need them for your child.
COVID Response Procedure
Do NOT pass busses with lights on!
Please Remember that you need to STOP and do NOT pass school busses/vans when their red lights are flashing. This includes the school parking lot.
Please do NOT pull into the visitor spots in front of the school from 8:20-8:45 as this is when the school busses are dropping off. If you need to bring your child in to the office, please park in the upper lot and walk down to the school lobby.
The SAFETY of our students is our priority. Thank you for partnering with us and making unloading and loading busses / cars as safe as possible or our littles.
School Council Needs YOU!
LAST CALL FOR PARENT / COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES FOR SCHOOL COUNCIL!
A school council is a representative, school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members required to be established by each school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C.
If you are interested, please email me at bfrench@winchendonk12.org before September 13th.
I will put together a 'ballot' of interested persons. Family members will be able to 'vote' for school council members at the Open House or via the online ballot.
We are also looking for community representatives.

- chaperoning field trips
- helping out with recess supervision
- making copies or other tasks
- we even have some tasks that can be completed at home to help out our teachers
- manpower for PTO and School events
No matter how much time you have to give, we have a volunteer opportunity for you. We'd love for you to be an integral part of our Memorial School Team!
please email your child's teacher or Mrs. French if you'd like to volunteer in any capacity.
