CELP Schedule Will NOT Change
New Schedule for students already attending in-person
This last week Governor Inslee announced a change to the Washington State Guidelines for physical distancing in schools based on new recommendations from the CDC. The new guidelines allow for physical distancing to be changed in the classroom setting from 6 to 3 feet. In other areas, such as the cafeteria when students have their masks off, the distancing needs to be maintained at 6 feet. We spent the last week reviewing our plans, classroom configurations, schedules and staffing to see if we could increase our in-person offerings to students and still be able to follow all of the health and safety guidelines.
Teachers are very excited to have students back on campus for more in-person learning. While staff and families have worked hard to keep kids engaged and learning throughout our remote and hybrid models, nothing beats having kids here on campus learning with their classroom teachers.
With this new schedule, we will continue with the strict health and safety guidelines that we have been following all year. Those include extra ventilation, frequent cleaning and disinfecting, wearing of masks, and 6 feet of physical distancing when students have their masks off to eat or are playing outside. Elementary students will continue in their cohorts. Middle school students will be in cohorts, but will change classroom with disinfecting occurring between each group of students.
During the transition we will be refining our schedule, reassigning staff, moving furniture, and revamping our transportation and food service procedures. Teachers will begin sharing additional information about the transition from remote learning to in-person learning.
We will have remote learning for all students on Mondays, no in-person classes
Our Tuesday - Friday schedule will continue to be from 8:30-2:00
Transition Schedule:
April 12-16:
- We will continue our current hybrid schedule this week. Last day of Monday classes for 3rd and 6th grades.
April 19-23:
- Students continue on the current hybrid schedule ONLY. No Monday classes.
April 26: No Monday Classes - all remote learning.
April 27-30 our new schedule will start for ALL students attending in-person:
- 8:30-2:00 pm
- Tuesday - Friday
- K-5 students will be with their regular classroom teacher
- 6-8 students will be in grade level cohorts
We have been very fortunate to not have any outbreaks of COVID on campus. With our staff now having been vaccinated and the transmission rates being extremely low for schools, we are confident that students and staff will continue to be safe as we transition into this new schedule.
Health Attestations
We will be giving each family several cards with our daily health attestation questions on it. When this card is shown to staff it will be the families attestation that your student is free of symptoms, doesn't have a fever, and has not been in close contact with someone that has COVID.
We hope this new process will speed up the process in the parking lot during drop off.
We will hand out the cards during parent drop off over the next several weeks.
Transportation
Once we solidify the bus schedules the driver for your child's route will call you and let you know the approximate time they will be at your stop.
The parking lot is getting quite congested in the mornings with all of the health attestations that need to take place. The more students we can have ride the bus the less issues we have in the parking lot both in the morning and afternoon.
Our buses have been very safe with no incidents of COVID and no students who have ridden the bus have had to quarantine. The buses are disinfected before and after each bus run as a precaution, students wear masks, and sit in family groups where possible. All students who ride the bus have their temperature checked and parents have completed health attestations.
