To all our Bobcat Writers- the CFSD Poetry contest is beginning! Please submit your best poem to the contest by February 22nd. You need to type or write your poem neatly, and put your name, your grade level, and your teacher's name on the back of the paper. You will also need to fill out an entry form that needs to be signed by a guardian. Three poems will be selected from each grade level to move forward to the district competition. You can turn your poems into your classroom teacher. This is a fun way to share your amazing writing with the Ventana Vista community- so get creative and start writing today!

Many of our teachers allowed the students to spend 5 minutes outside on Monday so that the students could enjoy the snow. We know how rare it is to get snow in Tucson and what a joy it is for our students to be out in the snow. Here are some of our 2nd graders enjoying the snow. They were screaming and trying to catch the snowflakes with their hands and tongue.

Sra. Alexander’s math students were working on writing a letter to next year’s 3rd graders about the math concept that they were learning about. They had to work with their team and discuss base ten concepts.

The kindergarteners sure do enjoy Mileage club. They are logging many miles each Thursday as they run, walk and jog around the track.

One of our 5th grade classes buddied up with one of our 2nd grade classes to share the stories that they each class had written.

Nice work teachers this is a great way to motivate our writers by giving them a purpose and audience for their story.
