Day 1 Highlights
Morning Meeting
In this morning's group meeting we began working on our engineering design process by building ramps for our Hot Wheels cars to race down. Then, we made egg maracas, had a Conga Line, and danced to the Macarena! We learned about Rube Goldberg Machines by watching several videos of real Rube Goldberg's in action. After snack and story, we built our own musical instruments, catapults, paths for our Ozobots, and we practiced our design thinking with online games. We made Tambourines, guitars, Xylophone's, a rain stick, and banjos with cardboard boxes, Popsicle sticks, and more!
Recess Fun!
Afternoon Session
After recess and lunch, we came back inside and made Rube Goldberg machines out of all of the materials we could find. We had to have 5 parts that worked together to have an end goal of playing one of our instruments! We shared our machines with the class when we finished!
