Baseball Goes Unbeaten in Tennessee


Hewitt-Trussville Baseball went 3-0-1 over the weekend in Tennessee. The Huskies are now 20-1-1 on the season as they prepare to enter Area play.


Hewitt-Trussville beat Signal Mountain (TN) in the opening game. Riley Quick was the winning pitcher as he struck out 10 batters. Jack Ollis, Carson Wideman, and Brett Moseley all had two hits each.


The Huskies next beat Hixson (TN) 13-0. Baker Green pitched a complete game and had 10 strikeouts. Kurt Kizer had three doubles and five RBI's.


On Saturday, the Huskies tied Silverdale (TN) 3-3 and beat Gordan Lee (TN) 5-2. Jacob Francis picked up a win and Lawson Wood had a save. Jack Ollis and Matt Miller had three hits each.


The Huskies will begin Area play on Wednesday April 6 when they travel to Gadsden City.

Girls Golf Wins Hike the Hills Event


Hewitt-Trussville Girls Golf finished in 1st place out of nine teams at the Hike the Hills tournament this week. The teams played 18 holes on Monday and were scheduled to play 18 final holes on Tuesday. Weather conditions cancelled Tuesday's round.


The Huskies won the event by seven shots over Auburn. Molly Davidson won the individual title as she shot a round of 70. Gracie Davidson shot 78 and Kiersten Riggins shot 81 to round out the team scoring.

Tennis Sweeps Tuscaloosa County in Section Match


HT Tennis traveled to Tuscaloosa on Monday and defeated the Wildcats 9-0 in both Boys and Girls action. The HT Boys and HT Girls are both 4-1 in Section play.


Isabella Hall, Yasmin Fisher, Anna Blake, Abbie Kate Monski, Talia Talley, and Ann Claire Bryant all won in singles play. Isabella Hall/Anna Blake, Yasmin Fisher/Anna Beth Hill, and Talia Talley/Sarah Kate Smith won in doubles play.


Chase Armstrong, Josh Blake, Nolan Armstrong, Drew Gardner, Pierce Miller, and Griffin Greenhaw all won in singles play. Josh Blake/Drew Gardner, Chase Armstrong/Nolan Armstrong, and Pierce Miller/Carter Holley all won in doubles play.


The Huskies will finish up regular season play this week:

Wednesday: vs Spain Park

Thursday: vs Pell City

Friday: @ Hoover


The Huskies will travel to Hoover next week for the 7A Section 3 Tournament.

Softball Goes Undefeated in Oxford


Coach Taylor Burt led HT Softball to a perfect 4-0 record over the weekend in Oxford. The Huskies are now 26-2-1 overall on the season. HT is scheduled to host Oak Mountain on Wednesday and Spain Park on Thursday in a pair of Area games.

Olivia Faggard was the winning pitcher. Kenleigh Cahalan was 2-3 with three runs scored and two RBI's.


HT 17 Sylacauga 0

Kate Hicks was the winning pitcher as she tossed a shutout. Olivia Faggard was 4-4 with three runs scored and five RBI's.


HT 11 Central Phenix City 1

Sarah Hindman got the win in the circle. Kenleigh Cahalan and Olivia Faggard had two hits each.


HT 3 Smiths Station 0

Sara Phillips pitched a complete game and struck out seven batters. Olivia Faggard had three hits and scored a run.

Outdoor Track & Field Meet Recap


Hewitt-Trussville Outdoor Track & Field traveled across the state line on Friday night as they competed in the Friday Night Lights at Starr's Mill event in Fayetteville, GA. The HT Girls finished 3rd out of 26 teams and the Boys finished 5th out of 28 teams.

HTMS Boys Golf Places 2nd


HTMS Boys Golf had a second place finish on Monday at the Berry Invitational. The event was held at The Meadows. The Huskies shot a team score of 120, which was one shot behind the first-place team. Colten Sutton, Colson Rush and Jackson Sims finished tied for 5th, each posting a score of 40. Charlie Crowson finished 14th.


The Huskies next tournament is Wednesday at Cumberland Golf Club before hosting the Husky Classic on Thursday at Trussville Country Club.

MS Baseball Beats Pell City


HTMS Baseball went on the road and defeated Pell City 11-8 on Monday. Harrison Malone, Rylan Barlok, and Cale McIntosh all had two hits each.


The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Oak Mountain for a pair of games.

HTMS Girls Golf picked up a win over Liberty Park on Monday. The Huskies won by two shots. Lola Mitros, Savannah Kennedy, and Hadley Hilgers had the low scores for the Huskies.
