The Cat's Connection

LaCreole Middle School Newsletter 9/22/21

Principal's Message

Dear LaCreole families,

What a fantastic start to the school year! It is wonderful to see students back in classrooms reconnecting with teachers and friends. I have been witnessing some incredible teaching and learning going on. While the mask mandate has been challenging for everyone, students have generally been very cooperative. We thank all of you for understanding and supporting our students and staff during these difficult times.

A few housekeeping items:

1) Please remember to have your student bring a water bottle to school.

2) If your student brings a musical instrument to school, they may enter upon arrival and store it in the band room before going back outside until doors open.

3) Students who need to be excused from PE must have a doctor's note on record. Notes may be turned in at the Attendance Office.

Finally, please do not hesitate to contact me with any issues or concerns. I try to respond within 24 hours.

Go Wildcats!

Volleyball

This is the first season in 2 years and it sure looks different. Masks required, shortage of refs and buses, but the games luckily go on. We love being able to play together, learn drills, and develop our skills. The last time the current 7th and 8th grade girls played, they were on non competitive teams so this is their first year for traveling. They are learning the basics from how to get a three-hit play to how to rotate in as a sub. It's been a real treat to watch these girls improve so much in just 3 short weeks.

Come support the girls and cheer them on to victory. Home games on 9/27, 10/6, 10/11, and 10/18.

10/13 is a scrimmage between 5th through 8th grades. Go Wildcats!
