We know how mysterious acronyms and abbreviations can be to families that are new to ABA (applied behavior analysis), so we are going to try to help you all decode our behavior lingo every month.

This month's definition is from Behaviorspeak: a Glossary of Terms in Applied Behavior Analysis.

LOVAAS: The proper surname of O. Ivar Lovaas, clinician and researcher. His ground-breaking work using ABA with children with autistic-spectrum disorders (e.g., the 1987 study describing the Young Autism Project) has been so influential that some people outside the field refer to intensive ABA-based interventions for people with autism as "Lovaas therapy" or as "doing Lovaas."

ABA Videos

Free Videos are produced by behavior analysts and show a particular skill, concept, or theoretical construct. Videos are submitted by behavior analysts from all over the world. Those that meet criterion (see submission criteria) are uploaded to the site for your viewing pleasure. Videos are typically less than 5 minutes in length.
