Expect the BEST at IES!
We were super excited to welcome our Ila Gators back to school on Friday as we kicked off the new school year! The thorough planning and hard work of our faculty and staff, the support of our parents and community, and the positive behavior from our students made our first day of school go very smoothly --- we know this is going to be one amazing school year at Ila Elementary. Expect the BEST at IES, where Goals And Teamwork Offer Rewarding Success!
We need your help...
While meals will be provided at no charge for all students this school year, confirmed eligibility for free & reduced-price meals ensures access to MANY benefits beyond school meals. Our percentage of qualified free and reduce applications affects federal funding, which we use to help provide our Gators with support staff, instructional materials, technology resources, and so much more. Families whose students would be eligible for meal support in a typical year should complete the free & reduced-price meal application as soon as possible.
Water Bottle Reminder...
Because our water fountains remain unavailable for students to use due to COVID, it is important for your child to remember to bring his/her water bottle to school EVERY day. Students are able to use our water bottle filling stations to refill their water bottles throughout the day. PLEASE double-check each morning to make sure your child's water bottle is in the outside pouch of his/her book bag. Thanks in advance for your help with this!
Computers and Chargers Are Coming Home...
Madison County Charter School System (MCCSS) is continuing to provide all students with a learning device to support the continuation of teaching and learning through online software and Internet resources. As we did last year, these will be loaned to each student to use for instructional purposes at home and in the classroom. By the end of the week, Ila Gators will start bringing their assigned computer device home on a daily basis for recharging and completing instructional assignments. The charger will remain at home until near the end of the school year so please make sure your child recharges his/her device each night and returns it to school each day.
Setting Up Parent Portal and Online Meal Payments
This link provides step-by-step directions on how to set up Parent Portal if you have not already done so. Parent Portal provides parents with instant access to your child's assignments, grades, and attendance, as well as add money to lunch accounts.
