The Abbott Connection

It's a Great Day to be a Ram !!!!

Message from Carl E. Hagman - Principal

Robert Abbott Middle School - October 8, 2021

Greetings to all Ram Families!

An unknown author once said, "Enthusiasm is the match that ignites the candle of achievement." The enthusiasm to learn has been evident across classrooms at Abbott Middle School this quarter. Scholars have engaged in problem-based learning activities with great eagerness, collaborated with each other to solve mathematics problems, and worked hard to develop their writing skills. Additionally, the robots and amusement park rides that they have built in their STEM classes, magnificent artwork that they have produced, and their enthusiastic efforts in physical education classes have been awesome!

Next, Friday, October 15, 2021, is the end of Quarter 1. Grade reports will be prepared the following week and sent home by the District. With the end of the quarter also comes our annual Parent-Teacher Conferences. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held virtually this year on Wednesday, October 20, and Thursday, October 21, 2021. Conferences will be 15 minutes long and run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. both evenings. Please take this opportunity to meet with your Scholar's teachers to create partnerships for success. A link to schedule these virtual appointments will be sent next week.

Please help us support Scholar learning by discussing with your Scholars the importance of being on time to class. This goes along with our Ram Creed, "Respectful, Accountable, Mindful and Safe," and supports deeper learning.

Our first Family "Discussion Roundtable" in September was a great success. Please join us for this month's "Discussion Roundtable" on October 27, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Abbott Middle School to discuss topics related to family engagement, Scholar success, school improvement, and more. These events are typically held on every third Wednesday. This has been moved to the fourth Wednesday due to Parent-Teacher Conferences.
