Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. Last week was a fun, informative week as scholars engaged in various instructional activities, shopped at the Annual Fall Book Fair, and recognized Red Ribbon Week. We hosted our STEM Academic Night with a focus on mathematics and received updates from PTA. We also had our Full House meeting where we come together as an entire campus. House Msaidizi reported that they have 33 complete patient packets and 2 boxes of additional supplies thanks to various contributions for their community service project; these items will bless patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The week ended with our Movie Night Under the Stars hosted by PTA. We encourage and challenge ALL parents to participate in at least one academic night throughout the school year; if possible participate and attend all. November's academic night will focus on health and fitness.
This week, we will celebrate the 50th day of school on Monday by dressing in 1950s attire. The theme is “Grease Lighting on the 50th Day”. All scholars are encouraged to participate. On Wednesday, scholars are able to come to school dressed as their favorite literary (storybook or movie) character. We are asking ALL parents to send a bag of individually wrapped candy, chips, stickers, etc. by Tuesday, October 30 to ensure that we have enough for every scholar to enjoy our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat.
Nominations for Gifted and Talented will end on November 6th, so read over the information, and know that you are able to nominate your child if you feel like he/she possesses those characteristics. Links on below will help guide you.
In August, Lake Ridge will be home to the district's new Montessori program; a Pre-K/kindergarten multi-age classroom will open on our campus. More details will be shared at Experience CHISD, Saturday, November 10. Attend the event, and be the first to receive details about signing up. Watch this video to learn more about the unique benefits Montessori offers.
Our attendance this past week was very low, so let's aim for 100% attendance this week.
Read the information located on below in the newsletter to learn about campus/district happenings, important reminders, news from APD and PTA, and upcoming events. Always remember that "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line."
