Welcome to the Crew!
Ms. Brooke Little - Assistant Principal Intern
Ms. Brooke Little was raised in Latrobe, PA which is also home to Mister Rogers and Daniel Striped Tiger!
Currently enrolled in NC State's Principal Preparation Program, she will be an Administrative Intern at Buckhorn Creek Elementary School this school year!
Ms. Little earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University and is a National Board-Certified Teacher. Throughout her 19 years in education, she has worked as a high school science teacher, intervention & testing coordinator, horticulture teacher, and outdoor environmental educator. While most of her experience is at the high school level, she is really looking forward to elementary school!
Ms. Little has found joy learning and leading in schools through diverse opportunities including writing curriculum, chairing the School Improvement Team, coordinating the work of Beginning Teachers and Mentors, and facilitating school-based professional learning for Professional Learning Teams. She has served as a member of several committees centered around instructional and cultural leadership, as well as being actively involved as an advisor for student interest and service clubs. Ms. Little most recently served as an AP Environmental Science Teacher, Science Department Chair, and Beginning Teacher Mentor at Green Level High School in Wake County.
She lives in Holly Springs, along with her husband, their two daughters, and two dogs, Bodie and Henry. She loves reading, exploring, and spending time outdoors. She can't wait to learn more about the Buckhorn community and each one of you!
**Please note: Buckhorn Creek Elementary will have two staff members on our Crew named Brooke Little. Ms. Brook Little (email - blittle1@wcpss.net) our Assistant Principal Intern and Ms. Brooke Little (email - blittle2@wcpss.net) one of our Special Education Teachers.

Stock the House!
We are excited to expand our global connections once again this coming school year as we welcome two new teachers to our Crew from the UK. Mr. Jack Mutton will join our 2nd Grade team and Ms. Selena Wakefield will be joining our 3rd Grade team. We are expecting them both to arrive at the end of July.
As they begin planning their moves, we are looking for ways to help them get established. Like our other teachers from abroad, they will arrive with just 2 simple suitcases. Thus, we want to provide as much support as possible. If you happen to have an extra set of pots and pans, dishes, silverware, or any other kitchen items in your house that you no longer need, please drop it off to the Buckhorn Creek office. We will also be looking for any living room furniture, dressers, etc.
We have some items from left from past teachers that have moved back to the UK, but not nearly enough to stock two apartments.
Thank you all in advance for your support!
