What is happening in Computer class?

This week is wrapping up the end of our NWEA MAPS testing for grades K-8. Your student’s teacher will share MAPS results with you during Parent-Teacher conferences.

Students in grades 1-4 are already logging into the computers. We will start logging in with Kindergarten students later this fall. Login names are your student’s legal first and last name, combined with a period. (For example: Does your student know how to spell his or her last name without looking at a paper for help? Ask him/her and find out if this is something you can work on at home together! The next few weeks in computer class bring on lessons about the parts of a computer, keyboarding and internet safety.

Check out this website: PBS Parents for tips & tricks to raise an awesome kid! Includes child development resources for baby & toddler through teenage and issues & advice on raising boys, girls, financial hardships, and for military families.

Mid Quarter Reports

Mid Quarter reports will be coming home today. This is an excellent way to communicate with your child his/her strengths and to make connections with teachers prior to the end of the quarter.

Below are some great questions to ask your child:

  • What was the best thing that happened at school today? (What was the worst thing that happened at school today?)
  • Tell me something that made you laugh today.
  • If you could choose, who would you like to sit by in class?
  • If you got to be the teacher tomorrow, what would you do?
  • If I called your teacher tonight, what would she tell me about you?
  • How did you help somebody today?
  • How did somebody help you today?
  • Tell me one thing that you learned today.

If you have any questions, please contact any one of our classroom teachers!
