π Champ Camp Shirts!!
We had our first Champ Camp assembly on Wednesday, and each student was gifted a Champ Camp shirt them to wear throughout the year on Champ Camp days. These days give us an opportunity to celebrate our Chapel Hill school spirit, practice a building-wide behavior expectation, and complete a challenge to earn a class reward.

Book Fair Message from PTA
The book fair is almost to Chapel Hill! We need all your help to run this week, which also includes our night family activity of Bingo for Books. Volunteer for as little as 1 hr time slots, or multiple of them. We appreciate any time you can give to run the registers, help kids as they search for books, and help them count their money. Please check out the sign up genius link below for all the times we need help.
Our online book fair is open Monday October 30-Thursday November 9th Our in-person book fair will be from Friday, November 3rd-Wednesday November 8th, with evening hours on Friday, November 3rd.
π€ This Week's Learning
π Reading: We learned how to use different text features to gain new knowledge while reading nonfiction books.
βοΈ Writing: We learned about many text and illustration craft ideas such as speech/thought bubbles, onomatopoeia, dialogue, and ellipses.
π’ Math: We continued to compare three digit numbers by using place value.
π Social Studies: We continued to learn about Native American culture. We began learning about the Pledge of Allegiance.

In this weekβs lesson, your child learned how to make ourselves feel better when we are feeling disappointed or upset.
Try This at Home
Remind your child that when they feel disappointed or upset, they can make themselves feel better using positive self-talk. They can encourage themselves in their own mind!
