Principal's Corner
We had a great week at Chapelfield. I wanted to make sure to remind all families that as the weather gets cold, we will go outside as much as possible. We know our students need to move their bodies which in turns helps their brains to focus on learning. As such, please have your children wear warm coats. You also want to make sure they have hats and gloves. When the snow comes, we may still be outside. You might want to consider having boots. If you need help with any of those items, please reach out to Miss Wood, our school counselor. We will go outside unless it is 20 below or feels like 20 or below.
Have a great weekend together!
Counselor Corner
Hello Chapelfield families!
I hope you are all staying warm with the colder weather we have been having! If your child is in need of winter clothes like coats, hats, socks, and gloves, please let me know and I can help you obtain those items. I can be reached at woodal@gjps.org or (614) 643-0765.
It is so hard to believe the holiday season is already coming up! Registration for The Gahanna Gift Shop is now open! The shop will be held at Middle School West on December 10th. The pop up is one day only, open to Gahanna residents, where toys are for sale for $2.00. If you are interested in this event, please sign up at this link: https://gahannagiftshop.wixsite.com/my-site (only families who register will be able to shop).
With the weather getting colder and the sun setting earlier, we may start to feel more tired and we may feel unmotivated at times. While we may have these feelings, it is important that we are still exercising, and your students are too (even when we don't feel like it, trust me I have been there)! Exercise is so beneficial for children; it can help children have a better outlook on life, improve school performance, and more! While the weather may be cold and children may not be able to run around outside, it is still important to make sure they are exercising. Learn more about the importance of exercise in children here: https://kidshealth.org/en/parents/exercise.html?scrlybrkr=d7cfcd9b.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, and/or concerns please reach out to me! I am here to support you and your student(s).
Have a great weekend,
Lexie
