Kindergarten Registration for 2023-24 School Year
Device Reminder: Smartwatches
This is a friendly reminder that students wearing a smartwatch must have the device turned to the "off" position during the school day. If students need to contact a parent/guardian, they must do so through their teacher, the main office or the school nurse. Please refer to Board Policy, located on page 20 of the Elementary Handbook for more information. Thank you for your cooperation.
Electronic Devices
Portable communication devices (PCD) such as cellular phones, digital music/video players, and handheld video games, smartwatches etc. are to be kept out of sight and turned off during the school day unless otherwise approved by an administrator. Administrators may make exceptions to this rule based on a student’s individual circumstances. The school district will not be responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen property.
PBIS Winter Reboot!
As students returned from the winter break, we've spent intentional time reviewing and practicing our school-wide PRIDE behavior expectations in all areas of our school. In addition to activities within classrooms, students attended an assembly. Our student council members modeled scenarios for our student body to discuss how students were or were not showing PRIDE. They had a buddy from a different grade level to turn and talk to and share how students could show PRIDE in the scenario. Reviewing, modeling and practicing our school-wide expectations continues to strengthen our climate and culture here at Chapman. Our student council members did a fantastic job leading our assemblies and students had awesome ideas and conversations!

Winter Weather Reminder
Now that the weather has officially cooled down, please make sure that students are dressed weather appropriate for recess. Students will go outdoors unless the temperature, including wind chill, is below 20 degrees. Please also write your child's name in coats and hats. This allows us to return lost or misplaced items back to the correct student.

Shared Food Guidelines
The District adheres to guidelines for shared food and snacks so that we can promote safety, consistency, and equal access for the growing number of children who have life-threatening food allergies.

Red, White, Blue Encore Calendar
Students attend Encore Classes (Art, Music, PE) during a specific "color" week. Your child's teacher will share their specific class Encore Schedule with you. (Example: If I have PE on red weeks, I would want to dress appropriately (wear tennis shoes) on the days that are shaded red on the calendar).
