Fine Arts Grant
There are two important documents at the bottom of this newsletter - the grant guidelines and the grant application.
The deadline for this grant is September 7 (the Friday after Labor Day) at the end of the day (end of my day is 5:00p.m.)
Reminder that the grant is for $500 and is given with priority to teachers who participate in either Paulding's Next Star in the fall of Fine Arts Day in the spring as these are the events which generate the revenue for the grant.
Art Competition shared by Dr. Otott
Since 1922, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has sponsored Fire Prevention Week.
The 2018 Fire Prevention Week is October 7 - 13, and the theme is “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere!”
To encourage observance of Fire Prevention Week, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Hudgens in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal's Office sponsors activities that support fire safety and prevention.
- Each year a statewide poster, fire safety tips calendar poster and two fire safety essay contests are conducted for Georgia students.
- The poster and fire safety tips calendar contests are designed for grades K – 5;
The Statewide Fire Safety Poster and Calendar Poster Contests:
- Offered to Georgia students in grades K through 5 by using the NFPA Fire Prevention Week theme and/or the monthly fire safety tips as outlined in the Fire Safety Tips Calendar in their poster artwork.
- The poster should also focus on fire prevention in the home. The theme for 2018 Fire Prevention Week is “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,”
- A panel of judges (chosen by the State Fire Marshal's Office) selects from each grade level, K – 5, a first, second and third place poster winner and 13 winners for the 2017 Fire Safety Tips calendar.
The forms for the contest are attached at the bottom of this newsletter!

Performances, Volunteers, and More Needed - October 13
Paulding Fine Arts is putting on their 16th Annual Fall Fest on Main St. in Dallas on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10 am - 4pm. The association raises money at this festival for our Annual Fine Arts Scholarship.
They would love for Paulding County Schools Fine Arts programs to be part of the entertainment. You can find the current schedule below. They still have 6 spots that need to be filled.
They are looking for dance, choral music, acoustic music, bands, Drama, Musical performance from a play, karate, etc. - Anything to highlight the amazing programs that are being offered in Paulding county!
They are also looking for local groups to volunteer with set up, clean up, etc. during the festival (anytime between 6:30 am - 5:30 pm). (This BETA students, choral, band, art, drama kids needing service hours, etc)
Please forward to anyone you think would be interested and have them contact Peggy Cline if you have any questions.
Thank you so much!
