URCEO Family Newsletter
May 1, 2021
Dear URCEO Families,
May 3-7 is Teacher & School Staff Appreciation Week! The URCEO team strives to inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. They’re experts at boosting confidence through the right mix of motivation and instruction. They serve alternately as mediators, supportive listeners, and all-around problem fixers. And in the past year, they pivoted and stretched as we adjusted to all the changes brought by Covid-19. National Teacher Appreciation Week is a chance to thank educators for all they do to ensure that students succeed in school and in life. Please join me in letting our team know that they matter!
On Friday, May 7, you are invited to take part in Chalk it up to Great Teaching! We will have sidewalk chalks available and are encouraging our students and families to come by and add a message to our front walk. Friday will also be another chance to "pop" by for a frozen treat when you show us your completed 2021-2022 registration (you can pull up your ParentVue app). School Pictures and elementary supplies can also be picked-up on Friday. We will be celebrating all day from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Green
Principal

TODAY IS DAY ONE of our End of the Year SynchMeet Attendance Challenge
Individuals who have 92% or better SynchMeet attendance on a weekly basis will receive an "attendance credit" on Fridays. Students will be able to cash in their credits weekly or save up and select larger items.
This is will be a grade-level challenge as well as an individual challenge. The grade level midpoint reward will be Friday, May 21. Grade levels with an attendance rate of 92% or better will be invited to campus for an outdoor Tie-Dye Mask Party! All supplies will be provided.
We also have plans in the works for a culminating grade level reward on Friday, June 11th. Note for seniors, we will celebrate your final reward on June 1st at Senior Breakfast.
Elementary teachers will share details with students in class and our secondary students will have an announcement in their Canvas Group. We cannot wait to celebrate their success!

After School Tutoring continues on Mondays and Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. and can be done virtually or in-person at 129 Platt Ave., Eagle Point. Middle schoolers and younger need to be accompanied by a parent.
School Pictures
Picture packets can be picked up at the school on Friday, May 7th from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Unfortunately, our Lifetouch representative left the company and the new representative informed us that they are not able to schedule a photographer for retakes this school year. She shared the following:
Any family that is unhappy with the portrait from Picture Day, will find information on refunds included in the paid package. You could also log onto mylifetouch.com and use the live chat feature to indicate the need for a refund. There is also a customer service line for parents: 1-866-955-8342.
Any family who was not able to make it to the picture day, Lifetouch does apologize for the inconvenience; however, they look forward to returning to URCEO in just a couple of months for the '21-22 school year photos!
If due to missing Picture Day, a family needs another resource https://lifetouch.com/picture-day-snaps-at-home/ might be a fit for you.
