January Update
Welcome Back
Greetings and Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! As we enter 2021, I sit here and reflect on 2020. Just like every year, 2020 had its share of struggles and some that will be talked about for a long time. As we begin 2021, I realize that there will remain a level of anxiety and frustration around COVID-19 and its impact not only in our schools but our families and communities. However, in spite of all of that, I am excited and ready to begin moving forward in a new year. I enter this year with hope and optimism for the children, school, and the district. It's easy to get pulled back into the sea of negativity, but having an optimistic attitude allows us to have a mindset to turn obstacles into opportunities. No matter what the year or the circumstances, being able to turn obstacles into opportunities will benefit our students in the future.
During the course of the past year, the passion, commitment, and resiliency shown by our students, families, teachers, and staff has given me a lot to be optimistic about leading into 2021 and future years.
While I am happy to welcome in a new year, I want to thank 2020 for showing us that we are stronger and more capable than we ever thought we could be. Have a great start to 2021!
Mr. Kaczmark
Remote Learning Information
Dear Elementary Families,
We hope you are all doing well and staying safe and healthy. This is just a reminder that our virtual learning is currently until January 18th, with the tentative student return date of January 19th. The school board will be meeting on the 11th of January to discuss options and make a decision about our return to in-person learning.
We understand how difficult this is for our students, our families, and our teachers. Please know we will provide the option of live synchronous education to our students in these demanding circumstances. We will offer live remote synchronous instruction at the elementary level on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday still being a virtual day. We will also record lessons to be posted for our remote learning students. Please review the expectations for both options and reach out to your child’s teacher or administrator regarding questions you have about what option would be best suited for your family. It is the expectation that children will be present for the live synchronous instruction portions of the day or be marked absent from class unless this is communicated to the teacher or the office.
Our hope is that our community can mitigate the spread of this virus to allow our students to return to an optimal learning environment. We are committed to meeting and making adjustments that will allow our students to be successful in not only the virtual environment but also when we transition back to the brick and mortar setting.
As always, thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support as we navigate these difficult times. The health and safety of our students, staff, and community remain a top priority.
Please Stay Safe, and Please Stay Healthy!
Elementary Principals,
Ryan Kaczmark and Brett Kagarise
