Week of Jan. 13th

English Language Arts

Miss Warnke: We will be implementing the guidelines and purposes of using literature circles to discuss books. We will also be reviewing point of view to help prepare us for an assessment. J

Mrs. Allen: We are working on how to write research papers/cite sources. Students will be working on a practice research paper about their name this week and next week. Students will also be working on reading skills through Teenbiz and Moby Max. Please ask them about their research paper. You should be one of their sources!!!

Ms. Naze: Students are working on informational writing using research. They are continuing to complete the Teenbiz for reading skills practice and Moby Max for grammar skills practice.


Math 4: We are working in unit 5 which focuses on algebraic equations concepts. We are working with exponents, order of operations, and writing algebraic equations.

Math 7, 8: We will start Unit 4 working with geometry to find surface area of prisms.


The quiz for section 4 will be today. The Chapter 3 test will be Wednesday. Students will have a study guide on their iPad. If you would like a paper copy I can email you link or print one out for your student. Please let me know.

Social Studies

Students are exploring the story of World War 1. They are taking notes in their notebook and will be putting together a project to tell the story as a culminating activity.

MAP testing

This Thursday and Friday, students will be taking the mid-year MAP test for both math and reading.
