Swenson Scoop
Highlights from September 14th - October 8th
What have we been up to?
We have had a busy couple of weeks! In math, we have been learning how to multiply 2 and 3 digits by 2 digits, which has been a challenge for many of us. We took our test on multiplication yesterday and are now ready to move on to division.
In reading, we have been busy learning the skill of compare and contrast. We have compared two characters from a story using the website Tagul, compared the movie, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" to the book, and created compare and contrast puzzles using the app Stick Around. We will be moving onto Conflict/Resolution after MEA break.
We have also been finishing up our work with subjects and predicates by creating slideshows to show our understanding. These will be posted to Seesaw later in the week.
Firefighters were greeting us as we came into the building today!
Smokehouse
In honor of Fire Prevention Week, students in 4th grade will be visiting the smokehouse today. Look for pictures and our thoughts about the smokehouse on Seesaw later today or tomorrow.

Daily Work Corrections
If a student is not satisfied with their score on any daily work we complete, they are able to make corrections and hand back in to improve their grade. However, I will not allow students to correct their mistakes on an assessment. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
Fall Party
Our fall party will take place on Friday, October 30th. If you volunteered to bring treats for the fall party, I will be in touch in the next couple of weeks.
Having fun at the homecoming parade!
Math Facts
Starting next week, I will be sending home multiplication cards for students to practice their facts. Along with the facts, I will be sending home a sheet for you to sign and return. Thank you for your help with this!
