Act 2 Scene 1


The party ends, and Romeo ditches his friends to go see Juliet. Mercutio and Benvolio try to find Romeo. They make fun of Romeo’s for his love sickness for Roseline. Because they think he’s bedding Roseline, they decide to leave him alone. There is a lot of dirty jokes going on.

Act 2 Scene 2

In the bushes, Romeo lurks, creeping on Juliet. Juliet is confessing her love for Romeo. Romeo reveals himself, and they exchange compliments and vows of love. In this scene Romeo compares Juliet to the sun and stars. This scene is very romantic.

Act 2 Scene 3

Romeo is not in love with Roseline anymore, but is in love with Juliet. He tells Friar that he loves her, and he wants him to marry them. Friar is shocked that he thinks he's actually in love with Juliet, but finally just agrees to marry them just because he thinks it'll solve their families problems and bring them closer together!

Act 2 Scene 4

Benvolio and Mercutio were making fun of the nurse. After they lesve, the nurse is angry that they were being rude to her. When she calms down, Romeo talks about wanting to marry Juliet, and then they start to make up a plan to get her to marry him. After thinking of plans, nurse tries to give him money for efforts, but Romeo refuses to take any.

Act 2 Scene 5

Juliet is wondering where the nurse is, because she left for Romeo’s awhile ago. She finds the nurse all tired and achy, because she had been running all over the place. They talk about Romeo, and how hes waiting at Friar’s. The nurse tells her theres a good husband waiting there for her to marry, and tells her to go to him. Juliet then leaves to see Romeo.

Act 2 Scene 6

Juliet rushes in the room and embraces Romeo. Friar doesn’t want to leave them two alone until they are united in marriage.
