weekly update at CCE!
1A hearts CCE families
Hello CCE families,
It’s been a great week here at CCE! I am super proud of all of my 1A All-Stars!
I sent home a letter today regarding Specials Friends Day coming up on October 3rd. If you’re planning to attend, please bring back the information sheet that is attached to the letter.
Also, parent-teacher conferences are coming up on October 10th. I will be sending out a sign up form online to everyone soon. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and make sure you’re aware of this specific date. If for some reason October 10th is not a good day to conference then, please let me know. I would be happy to conference on another day before or after October 10th. I am available before or after school and during my conference time at 1:10-2:00pm as well. It’s very important that I meet with each and every one of you to discuss your child’s academic performance. Please let me know if you would like to schedule a conference on another specific date that is better for you.
Thank you again for all of your support! I appreciate ALL of my CCE families and appreciate ALL that you do!
Have a wonderful weekend,

what's the scoop this week!?!
What's Happening this Week?
- Library EVERY Wednesday! So, don't forget your books! :)
What are we learning in 1A this week:
Reading/Writing: Students will continue with daily phonics lesson and focus on making words with our "tile" letters. We will continue with our Daily 5 (reading stations) and practice with reading to self, buddy reading, word work stations, writing menus and listening to stories on various reading programs online. Students will continue working in their handwriting notebooks.
Math: Students will continue to explore with place value. Students will participate in various math stations to understand how we use place value. Students will also be exploring with apples! We will be graphing apples, estimating apples, and measuring the circumstance of an apple. Students will also weigh their apples and compare which apple weighs more.
Science: Students will continue learning about plants and what they need in order to survive. Students will be observing their own plants daily. Students will be drawing and writing about changes they see in their plants. Students will also be observing apples and discussing the oxidation process (when the apple turns brown).
Reading at home:
We started using RAZKIDS in reading stations this week. I wanted to send you the link just in case your child wants to practice reading online at home. Please log onto http://www.raz-kids.com/main/Login and then type in abliss0 for user name and then select your child’s name and finally click on the bunny rabbit to begin reading.
Don't forget to initial your child's reading log! Reading logs will be in your child's blue folder!
Happy Reading!
