Yellow Fever 1793

Movie Sound Track

Yellow Fever 1793 By: Donly Dang and Kevin Burnazi

Everyone in Philadelphia is either fleeing or staying in the city having the risk of catching the fever and dying. Many of upper-class fled to the country.

One Man Can Change The World By: Big Sean

We decided on "One Man Can Change The World" because a lot of kids, and family members were left alone, and were forced to survive on there own. In addition, Mattie had to be on her own when grandfather was attacked by two robbers, and was later dead.

"They used to tell me, used to tell me
I hope you learn to make it on your own
And if you love yourself just know you'll never be alone
I hope that you get everything you want and that you chose
I hope that it's the realest thing that you ever know"

See You Again By : Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa

We picked "See You Again" because mother became ill with the disease, and she forced Mattie to leave so she wouldn't become ill. After there goodbyes mother tells Mattie that she'll see her again. Mattie and, her mom didn't have a great relationship through the years, and have came from a long way, but this moment brought them together stronger than ever.

"It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again
(Hey)

Dang, who knew?
All the planes we flew
Good things we've been through
That I'll be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path."

Sorry By: Justin Bieber

We picked Sorry because the mosquitos caused most of the deaths in Philly, and they might've not known they were going to cause all of this mayhem. Also, the people that didn't let others in because they thought they were going to get sick if they let random people in might've been sorry or felt bad because the people on there own most likely got sick and died.

"Is it too late now to say sorry?
Yeah I know that I let you down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?
I'm sorry yeah
Sorry yeah
Sorry
Yeah I know that I let you down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?"

Hotline Bling By: Drake

We chose this song because at one point of the story Mattie she leaves the city after her mother got sick. Also, when Philadelphia becomes unsafe they left the city to avoid the deadly yellow fever. And the mosquitos were causing these deaths and didn't belong

In Philly.

"Ever since I left the city, you, you, you
You and me we just don't get along
You make me feel like I did you wrong
Going places where you don't belong."

Die Young By: Ke$ha

We picked Die young because a lot of the victims that parents died were forced to go on by themselves, and most likely died because they didn't have supplies or, anything with out anyone else.

"I hear your heart beat to the beat of the drums
Oh, what a shame that you came here with someone
So while you're here in my arms
Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young

We're gonna die young
We're gonna die young

Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young

Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young

Young hearts, out our minds
Running 'til we outta time."

Let Her Go By: Passenger

We picked Let her go because it seemed as every time you looked somewhere somebody was let go from life. Also, everything they touched, or ate could've been affected with the disease which in the song it says everything you touch surely dies.

"You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go."

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day

At a point of the story Mattie is alone in the streets of philly where the disease is still spreading and, she has to be on her own for a bit. Also, in the song it says don't know where it goes referring to the streets and Mattie doesn't know what comes next or what is going to happen.

"I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone."
