Fundraiser...One Week Left!

This fundraiser will close in one week...September 15th!

We are excited to kick off the 2023-24 school year and can't wait for students to build strong relationships on campus.

I am hoping you might be willing to help us build a vibrant and connected school culture at LVMS. Fundraising is something that helps to fund student activities and give teachers additional resources to support students. Through our partnership with School Funding Group we are simply asking for a minimum $20 dollar donation, and for that donation, you will receive numerous discounts on brand names like Amazon, Home Depot, Nike and Oakley. These discounts can far outweigh the cost of your donation.

The proceeds of this fundraiser will help fund:

  • Teacher Training
  • Teacher Supplies
  • Student Incentives
  • Technology for the classroom
  • UIL and OAP Supplies
  • School Improvement

We appreciate any support you can give and can't wait for this to be the best school year ever!

Spectator Guidelines for Athletic Events

We have our first Varsity football game this weekend, and in a continuing effort to assure the safety and enjoyment of all athletes and spectators, the following procedures will be enforced during home athletic events:

  1. Outside food and drink are prohibited.

  2. There is no re-entry after exiting the event.

  3. All students 5th grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult guardian in order to attend home games. The students must remain under the supervision of that guardian while at the event.

  4. Standing, loitering or horseplay under and around the stands, concession stands, or any other area is prohibited. There is absolutely no standing allowed by the rails and walkways in the stands. Repeat offenders will be required to leave the event and campus.

  5. Revealing, provocative and/or inappropriate dress will not be allowed, nor will inappropriate behaviors or foul language. Repeat offenders will be required to leave the event and campus.

  6. Once inside the event, middle school and high school students with a student ticket will be allowed to sit in the designated student area on the home side. Students are allowed to sit in the reserved or general admission sections only if they are under the supervision of an adult guardian.

  7. The use of alcohol, controlled substances, tobacco, and electronic cigarettes are prohibited on school premises.

  8. Only pre-approved individuals will be allowed access to the sidelines and track before and during football games.

  9. Spectators may not enter the field area or cross to the visiting team side.

  10. Everyone is expected to abide by the UIL’s expectations of proper sportsmanship. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the event and campus.

Lago Vista ISD appreciates everyone’s cooperation and support as we work to keep a safe and enjoyable environment at Viking athletic events.

Vikings Glide Over Marble Falls

7th B Lady Vikings vs. Marble Falls Mustangs

Great job tonight by our Lady Vikings. Taking the game in two sets, 25-19 and 25-13. They have grown so much in just a little time. The ladies are all around getting better at the game and becoming confident in themselves. We had more competition tonight and came close a couple times but we never gave up. Gianna Valle, Kinsley Boyd, and Madison Hawes dominated on the serves tonight. Lucy Smith came up with some good sets. On defense, Brooklyn Cushman and Lili Wessleman had some good passes up to their setters. Madison Hawes came up with a nice hit. Kinsley Boyd set the ball up for her hitters Annabelle Wheeler and Lila Culbreth. Shelby Rospin and Morgan Greenlee also helped contribute to their team wins. These ladies are off to a great start! Come out, watch, and support these young ladies next week in Lampasas.

8th B Lady Vikings vs Marble Falls Mustangs

Lady Vikings take their second win of the season! First set 25-22, and second set 25-21. Odalys Guajardo led the teams with her outstanding serves. Ava Bailey also added to the teams points serving several aces that the Mustangs couldn’t handle. Eloise Rowland had some great serves and passes in tonight’s game. Ellie St. Martin and Jenna Janson both worked hard at the setter position. They got up some beautiful sets for their hitters Braxton Blair, Odalys Guajardo, Rileigh Ramierz, to get some attacks on the Lady Mustangs. Isla Hall played a great game at the libero spot. She laid out and saved her team from aces. Sierra Gonzalez got some clean passes from back row. Hannah Koenning got a good hit against the Mustangs that they couldn’t return. Come support these awesome ladies next week in Lampasas.

7A vs. Marble Falls

This 7th grade group took down the Mustangs in 2 sets and they are now sitting at 2-0 for the season! We were put in a good position to win the first set quickly when Amelia Ferguson served 18 in a row! Wow! She won’t forget that game! Set was 25-5 and we had to scramble to get subs in because we did not rotate much but a good problem to have! Second set we missed some serves and had some rally’s going. We are still focusing on transitioning, how and when, so when serves are quickly returned we don’t adjust quickly enough .. yet .. they’re getting there! We have added a libero, Rain Nelson, who did a great job with passing and adjusting to new substitution rules along with the girls. Great improvements happening this week! They’re slowly learning that practices are for making mistakes and I’m determined to push them out of their comfort zone and to just go for it! Great talent and great attitudes with this group! Also contributing to the team victory: Lila Rodriguez, Leya Sund, Elena Prescott, Te’A Turner, Lauren Carpenter, Brinkley Gold, Molly Cortez, and Sloane Wolfe.

8A vs Marble Falls

First road trip equals first win on the road for the 8A Lady Vikings!

The girls got to experience their first match on the road this season at a very boisterous Mustang gymnasium. The girls knew going into the match that they would have to be ready for all of the “noise” they’d be getting from the student section during their match. The girls had prepped for this by trying to distract each other while serving during practice to work on their focus. It paid off as the ladies excelled in some tough situations late in both sets. Both matches stayed tight through early on with both teams going on several runs of points only to end up knotted together at 15pts a piece. It was at those moments in each set where the Lady Vikings took their execution to another level, running away from the Mustangs to win each set and the match by scores of 25 - 17; and 25 - 18. The girls showed some real grit when things got tough. The Lady Vikings strung together great serves, played outstanding defense, and flat out smashed some spikes at the Mustangs on Wednesday Night!

The girls next play in the North Shore Invitational on Saturday at the HS before going on the road again on Monday to take on the Lady Badgers of Lampasas. Come out and support all of the LVMS volleyball teams!

Football Kicks Off Their Season Against Jarrell

On Thursday, the LVMS Vikings Football Teams traveled to Jarrell for their first competition of the season. The scrimmage was dominated by both Vikings squads, with great performances on both sides of the ball. The offensive and defensive lines, both 7th and 8th grade, played exceptionally well. Offensively, the Vikings were able to move the ball consistently on the ground and in the air. While score is not kept in scrimmages, the Vikings put the ball in the endzone multiple times. Throughout the competition, the Viking Defense repeatedly denied the Cougar Offense and made big play after big play. Every single Viking player contributed to the team's success and the coaches are pleased with the early season results. The Vikings will have their first official game of the season on Tuesday (yes, I know) September 12 in Lampasas. 7th grade will kick off at 5:30 and 8th grade will kick off at the conclusion of the 7th game (7:00ish). These games will be played on Badger Field in Lampasas (right side of the road on 183 north).

Upon receipt of referrals, parents/guardians of referred students will receive a consent form to have their child screened for the Lago Vista ISD Gifted and Talented Education Program.

Vaping = DAEP

One significant change coming out of the Legislative session this year is that any student who is either using or in possesion of an e-cigarette(vape) of any type is an automatic DAEP(Disciplinary Alternative Education Placement) sentence.

HB 114 makes offenses involving the possession and/or or use of vapes a mandatory DAEP offense. School districts will now be required to place all students who are caught in possession and/or or using vapes (of any kind – not just those with drugs) into their DAEP.

Please share this with your children - it's just not worth it!

Student Registration

This message is to inform you that annual student registration is open in Ascender ParentPortal.

As a reminder, annual registration must be completed EACH YEAR because these forms provide us with important permissions and information that must be provided annually. It is also very important to note that the information provided in Ascender ParentPortal is what the school uses to contact parents in the event of an emergency, so it is very important that all information is correct and up-to-date.

HOW DO I ACCESS ASCENDER PARENT PORTAL?
https://portals13.ascendertx.com/ParentPortal/login?distid=227912

¿NECESITA ESPAÑOL?
Todos los formularios de registro también están en español. Para continuar en español, hay un menú desplegable en la esquina superior derecha de la página de inicio de sesión para cambiar al español.

WHAT IF I HAVE A NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENT? WHAT IF DON'T SEE MY ENROLLED STUDENT IN ASCENDER PARENTPORTAL?
If you enrolled your student during summer enrollment, you must still complete annual registration forms. If you don't see your enrolled student when you log in, an Ascender ParentPortal ID is needed in order to link to your student and complete the annual registration forms.

Please email registration@lagovistaisd.net and your campus registrar to receive your student's Ascender ParentPortal ID. Please note that there may be slight delays in answering requests during peak times, such as this, but we will get it to you as quickly as possible!

Once you receive your student's Ascender ParentPortal ID from the campus registrar, please log into Ascender ParentPortal, select "Link to Enrolled Student", and enter the ParentPortal ID and the student's date of birth.

WHAT IF I SEE MY STUDENT, BUT DON'T HAVE A "REGISTRATION" OPTION?
In order to complete forms or update data for a student, the email address you have listed in Ascender ParentPortal must match what we have in our system. If you can see your student, but can't update any information, those email addresses do not match. We recommend updating and verifying your email address in Ascender ParentPortal. If you need us to change your email address in our system, please email registration@lagovistaisd.net and your campus registrar. You will be asked to provide your student's full name, date of birth, and grade level for verification purposes.
