If you walked through a city you would smell sewers, rotting garbage, candles scented with blueberry, you would see shops, animals, and mosquitos, you would hear church bells and gossip, you would taste eggs, milk, and cheese, you would also touch torches, carpet, furniture, and books.1out of 20 percent of the colonial population lives in the cities.

You would taste milk, cheese, and eggs.
