HRS Parent/Student Survey Results
As you can see, our parents and students feel very strongly that Hawthorne has an overall Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture! Our job now is to continue what we are doing but also take a look at the indicators that aren't as high to see what we can do to improve!
Using the framework and indicators, districts and schools can drive permanent, positive, and significant impacts on student achievement. We are committed to providing excellent educational opportunities for our students and we thank all of you for helping us with the survey results!
E-Learning attendance update
E-Learning days are counted as student contact days which means the completed bingo boards need to be turned in to their classroom teacher to gain credit for attendance. With our e-learning day on November 27, the bingo boards will be due to classroom teachers on or before December 6. Thank you in advance for your support with this and please let us know if you have any questions.

Pick up reminder for after school
A reminder that Hawthorne staff is out in front, out back, and at two different 4 way stop signs trying to keep everyone safe! If they ask you for something, please know it is in the best interest of the students and everyone's safety.
Thank you once again for your help with our new system and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Did you know?
- Achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to pass reading and math assessments than students who don't attend school regularly.
- Opportunity: For older students, being in school every day gives them a chance to learn more about college and scholarship opportunities, and to take the important exams they need to build a successful academic record.
- Exposure to the English language: Regular school attendance can also help students who are learning English by giving them the chance to master the skills and information they need more quickly and accurately — even in other subjects!
- Being part of the school community: Just by being present at school, your child is learning how to be a good citizen by participating in the school community, learning valuable social skills, and developing a broader world view.
- The importance of education: Your commitment to school attendance will also send a message to your child that education is a priority for your family, going to school every day is a critical part of educational success, and that it's important to take your responsibilities seriously — including going to school.
