Virtual Learning Schedule
Virtual Learning for This School Year
Hello Parents,
Throughout the school year, we will present short video segments on what's happening in the virtual school building - and eventually the in-person school building. This week we're discussing the transition to the beginning of the school year, and ways for teachers and parents to work together to foster a positive, successful school experience. Thank you for taking a few minutes to engage with this video.
Be well,

At Home Student/Parent Technology Help
If you are having technology issues at home, please visit the Tech Help page on the Virtual Learning Help & Knowledge website to view answers to common issues.
After viewing the common issues section of the page, if you're still having difficulty, we strongly advise you to notify a teacher and ask them to send a support request to IT. This way, the teacher is also aware you're having a technology problem. If you're unable to reach a teacher, you may submit a support request directly by clicking on the "Students and Families: Submit a tech support or equipment request" link.
The CSD Virtual Meal Plan- Delivery or Pick up options available!

- To order meals for the week of August 31-September 4, we will move back our ordering window. So instead of Tuesday through Thursday, the ordering window will be Monday, August 24, at 8 am until Wednesday, August 26 at 3 pm. Nurse Notes
Hello Oakhurst Families-
Hope everyone has had a great start to the 2020-21 school year! As we all adjust to this new normal, I wanted to reach out to make sure students and families have what they need for a safe and healthy start. First off, for all of our new Oakhurst families, my name is Dawn Durham and I am thrilled to be your child's school nurse. I have two children (both former Oakhurst owls) who are now at Fave and Renfroe. This year begins my sixth year as a school nurse in CSD.
In keeping with recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC, the CSD School Health team strongly recommends that children continue with routine well visits and immunizations. These visits serve several important purposes, including:
tracking growth and development including milestones, social behaviors, and learning
discussing any concerns about your child’s health, and
getting scheduled vaccinations to prevent illnesses
In addition, if your child has any chronic medical conditions requiring a specialist’s care, please contact that provider to ensure they are current with all recommended visits.
We encourage families to be prepared for future in-person learning with all necessary health requirements. These requirements include:
A current Georgia 3231 Certificate of immunization record or completed Georgia Department of Health form 2208 (Affidavit of Religious Exemption to Immunization)
If this is your child’s first year enrolled in a Georgia public school, a Georgia Department of Health form 3300 Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutrition Screening is required
If your child has a medical condition that will require treatment in school, a Care Plan is required from your child’s healthcare provider. These may include Asthma, Seizure or Diabetes Care Plans and must be updated yearly
If your child will require medications at school, please be sure to follow the guidelines outlined in our District Handbook regarding Medications
Additional forms may be found at CSD Medical Forms
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Ddurham@csdecatur.net. I wish you all a safe and healthy 2020-21 school year!
Library Book Check Out Services During Virtual Learning (Flybrary Service)
The district is working on a plan to have contactless circulation for library books to students and families. This rollout is planned for the week of August 31. Students will have the option of book delivery via CSD buses or curbside pick up at Oakhurst. We will be sending more information to you next week.
Parents, if you have not had a chance, please take less than one minute to fill out this very brief survey to help us in planning our book check out services during virtual learning.
