Peek at the Week
January 22, 2018
Choice of Subject
This year we will conduct a parent meeting to inform parents of the choices their child can make for the 2018-2019 school year. The parent night will be February 1, 2018. Information to students will go through science classes.
Additionally, new this year, counselors must meet individually with each 8th-grade student and their parent to finalize the choice. They are currently working on a calendar and scheduling these individual meetings. Please look for an email in the future and be prepared to release these students at the time specified. The timeline for choice is below:
- Current 6th and 7th graders- January 29- February 16
- Current 8th graders February 19-March 9 and March 19-23
Substitute Folders - Semester 2 Update
Additionally, at least one emergency lesson plan should be in your substitute folder at all times. If you do not have a class set of copies for this purpose please get that completed and turned into Ms. Wilson by the end of the week. ( January 26) It is extremely hard to expect teachers or an outside sub to come into your classroom without an assignment.
Last, we all know that the flu is going around quickly in North Dallas which include the Bussey family. If you are feeling bad when you get home call in for a substitute at that time. I know everyone means well, however waiting until morning almost guarantees that we will not get a substitute. If you wake up and feel better you can simply call the substitute and cancel the AESOP posting. If you have any questions please ask your attendance administrator, Mr. Alvardo.
Faculty Meeting - BYOD
SOUPER BOWL
How it works:
Each dept. gets together and provides two crock pots of the same soup and the fixings to go with your choice. For example, if you are doing potato soup then you could bring crackers, cheese and bacon bits. Whatever goes with that type of soup. We will set up in the lounge and come together as a faculty for some much-needed fun with our Bussey Nation family. We will also provide a cake for January and February birthdays!
Groups are below. When your group decides what they are making please send Ms. Leigh an email so she can post it. That way we don't have two groups making the same type of soup.
