PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Teachers will be available from 3:30pm to 6:30pm in their classrooms. Please feel free to stop by and chat with your student’s teachers. If your student will not be attending with you, make sure to get a copy of their schedule so you will know which teachers to visit that evening.
We will also be serving a free spaghetti dinner that evening in our Commons from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. We hope to see you on Tuesday, March 19th.
Innovate WithIN
Congrats to Sam Everett and Treyton Brown for placing 2nd in Regionals for Innovate Within this past Tuesday at Mid America Science Park! They will have a "Wild Card" chance to compete in the State Competition by people voting on their video submission. When the voting is open I will be sending that out, so we can all help them get to State!
Scottsburg High School was well represented as 4 of the 9 teams in Regional were from SHS! We are so proud of all of them!
Presenters and their ideas:
- Sydney Moseley & Alexis Moseley - Crossroads - an after school program for Scott Co.
- Johnathon Perkinson & Morgan Fields - Smoke Away - an invention that covers fire pits to keep smoke away from you and your clothing, but you still get to enjoy the campfire experience
- Kelsi Holbrook & Rachel Stotter - Lectio Ludique - A virtual reality interactive way to read and retain books and literature better
- Sam Everett & Treyton Brown - P.E.F.F. Co - an environmentally friendly, high quality animal feed
FOOD PANTRY FOR MARCH!
The Warrior Food Pantry will be open on Wednesday, March 20th 7th period and after school from 3:30 - 5:00. Students may want to have a ride, if possible, on that day.
The food pantry is open to ALL SHS students and staff. The only requirement is to ask. Food insecurity is a large issue in our community. We typically serve 60+ families each month. We serve other community members IF we have left over food.
**Students should pick out their food 7th period, as we cannot guarantee there will be as much to choose from if they wait until after school hours.
Thanks to WatsonSigns & Graphics for the great work on W1!
