Educational Session Proposals Due Tuesday, June 16

NACA Mid America invites professional staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students from member institutions as well as associate members to submit proposals for educational programs for the NACA Mid America Regional Conference. Presenting is a great opportunity professionally and personally. Share your expertise and demonstrate your knowledge by presenting to students and professionals on engaging topics, new ideas, or scholarship in the field.

Educational Session Reviewers

Apply To Be A Graduate Intern By May 1

There are four Graduate Intern positions open for the 2015 NACA Mid America Regional Conference. Each Graduate Intern will be paired with a mentor within the region. Mentors will be seasoned student affairs professionals.


The four graduate interns will individually provide support for the conference in one of the following areas (areas will be assigned):
  • Block Booking
  • CAMP (Campus Activities Marketplace)
  • Educational Sessions
  • Social Media


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend Regional Conference Planning Committee (RCPC) pre-conference
  • Attend pre-conference luncheon with other Graduate Interns and the Graduate Intern Coordinator
  • Attend Professional Development Luncheon during the conference
  • Present an educational session with assigned mentor at the conference
  • Communicate regularly with mentor; meet with mentor while at the conference
  • Attend graduate student programs while at the conference
  • Duties assigned to their specific area of support


Qualifications:

  • Must be a current graduate student in the NACA Mid America region.
  • Intend to work in Higher Education upon completion of graduate school
  • NACA institutional membership is preferred, but not required.
  • A letter indicating institutional support for the volunteer application is required when applying for the position (Note: support is defined as financial as well as time out of the office, etc.)
  • Attendance is required for the duration of the Regional Conference.

Apply To Be A Graduate Intern Mentor By May 1

Graduate Intern Mentors provide guidance and development to the Graduate Interns prior to and throughout the NACA Mid America Regional Conference. They provide insight on what it means to be a student activities professional, and present an education session with their mentee. Please note that Graduate Intern Mentors are asked ot have 5+ years of experience and are working at an institution within the Mid America region.
