THE FIRST QUARTER HAS FLOWN BY!
Fall is my favorite time of year here in the Arcadia Valley. There always seems to be activities going on, and when the leaves start changing, I don't know if there is a more beautiful place to live in the state. As you know, Fall Festival is one of the traditions of our school that make this place unique. It is our hope that we make this tradition a positive memory for our students and community. You can help us with that. I have already spoken with students and sponsors about making this a great experience by trying to avoid the drama, by being positive towards each other and their sponsors, and by just having fun with it. It's the people involved that make this experience something great or something that is dreaded. Let's make it great for our kids.
I also encourage you to come to Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 22 beginning at 6 PM. Together we can work together to figure out how we can help your child improve their performance.
Our deep desire here in the high school is that your child would have a positive experience at AVHS and that we could put him or her in a place to succeed when they leave here.
Please let me know anyway I can help. My contact information is at the bottom of the page.
is our 20 minute common time immediately after lunch where you will find clubs meeting, homework being worked on, and maybe even a random magic show by a fellow classmate.
Check out some of the Swag that the Counseling Center is giving out. If you have a Senior student, ask them about it!
AV has had a great start to the sports season. The Volleyball Team is small school conference champs, for the first time in school history.

The AVHS Band represented us at the halftime show of the University of Missouri-Columbia football game in September. SEC? That's big time!
ACT Scores are in...
Last years Senior scores are in and we had an average of 22 on the ACT. That is our highest average on record...and is above the state and national average. Great job AV students and teachers!
