Hilton Weekly Newsletter

Principal's Message

It was great to see all of our Hound Families at our Hot Dog Open House. It's my favorite event of the year, as the Hilton community gets together to celebrate the start of a new school year.

Book Fair

The book fair was a great success. Students were eager to find books to meet their goal of reading 20 minutes per day. If you need tips or ideas to aid your child in the reading process, visit our literacy website by clicking the button below.

Meet our School Counselor

We are pleased to announce we have added a school counselor to work with students on social, emotional and academic goals. Scott Storey comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience that he has already begun implementing to help students success.

Restorative Discipline Practices

Mr. Storey has introduced to the Hilton staff, the practice of Restorative Discipline Practices. Restorative Discipline is an effective alternative to punitive responses to student behavior. It brings together persons harmed with persons responsible for harm in a safe and respectful space, promoting dialogue, accountability, and a stronger sense of community. Restorative justice is a philosophical framework that can be applied in a variety of contexts -- the justice system, schools, families, communities, and others.

Next week is Pink Week

At Hilton, we will celebrate Pink Week with a pink-out on Friday, September 21st. With respect to the age of our student population, we share with them that Pink Week is a time to recognize the hardships associated with cancer in general. We leave more in depth discussions to individual families.

The kids are off to a terrific start!

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Eisele

Box Tops

Please start and continue collecting Box Tops throughout the year. In the past, money raised through this program and financed the field trip transportation as well as granted up to $100 to each classroom for much needed supplies. Throughout the year, contest will be held to see which classrooms collect the most box tops.

Kroger Shoppers

Hilton is now enrolled in the Kroger Rewards Program. Please support the school by linking us to your Kroger Rewards Card. Our number is 68151 or you can just type our school name in the search window at https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards

Amazon Smile

How fun would it be to shop, while at the same time, earning money for our school? Amazon Smile (https://smile.amazon.com) is through Amazon.com, in which they donate money for most items purchased through their website. The fun part is that the website keeps a running total on your account to see how much money you donate to the school just by shopping with them. Check out this 30 second video to see how you can add a shortcut to your (mobile) home screen to ensure all your Amazon purchases benefit Hilton Elementary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWgglu7ZCDE.
