Building Access for Students
The school day is from 9:00 am to 4:15 pm. We will open our doors for students at 8:00 am. We will have staff members on duty starting at this time to ensure student and campus safety. Students who arrive at this time will be able to sit and wait in the cafeteria. We will dismiss students to their first period class at 8:45 am. If a student needs to arrive to campus prior to 8:00 am, they may wait on the benches along the carpool lane. Students who arrive early for sports or clubs will be given guidance by their coach, director, or sponsor.
All students need to exit the building no later than 4:45 pm unless under the supervision of a staff member.
Student ID Badges
Per PISD policy, all students in grades 9-12 will be required to wear school identification (ID) cards while on school grounds, at after-school activities, and while aboard District school buses. Student IDs and lanyards will be distributed the week of school picture day. It is the expectation that ID cards are visible and worn around the neck on a lanyard. Consequences will be given for not wearing a student ID in the prescribed manner. Lost or damaged student ID cards will be replaced for a fee of $10. We appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to implement this safety & security initiative!
Drop-Off Table, Deliveries, and Federal Food Guidelines
We would like to make everyone aware that the drop-off table located at the Jasper front doors is an unsupervised area. Jasper's staff does not have the capacity to supervise the table or monitor items that become missing. We strongly suggest parents that want to bring food to their students wait and hand deliver the food to their student. If not, there are other options the student can utilize like bringing their lunch or purchasing a lunch from our school cafeteria.
In order to avoid disrupting classes, flowers, balloons, food, and gifts cannot be accepted during the school day (this includes UberEats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.). All vendors will be turned away. No vendor should attempt to drop food off in the south student entry way. In addition, these items cannot be carried with the students to class. Personal messages are not delivered to students during the instructional day.
Per Federal Nutritional Guidelines, food that is brought to school cannot be shared with other students. Parents cannot bring extra drinks and food for anyone other than their student. This applies even on birthdays and special occasions.
Student Insurance
Student insurance is available for purchase through Markel Insurance Company. Parents may enroll students in the voluntary student accident insurance using the online enrollment process. Markel has dedicated a secure enrollment website at http://markel.sevencorners.com. Please see the documents below for additional details.
Join PTSA Today
Why join PTA? Since we don’t hold traditional fundraisers at Jasper, our membership dollars are key to supporting all the wonderful activities and services offered each year. Membership dollars help fund classroom educational supplies wish list items, student programs, teacher conference registrations, parent education programs, teacher appreciation luncheons, and special amenities throughout the building. This year, we would like to see 100% parent participation in membership. This may be a lofty goal, but everyone can benefit from being a PTA member. . Sign up at www.jasperptsa.org.

The Wolfpack Prowl Parade
We are delighted to inform the West Plano community of our upcoming parade, The Wolfpack Prowl, which will be held in the neighborhoods around Plano West Senior High on Saturday, September 28, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The Prowl is a 3.5-mile parade through neighborhood streets. The marching band will stop by individual homes to play song requests from a playlist of popular songs and Plano West spirit songs. At the end of the parade route, the band will perform a mini-concert around 1 pm outside of Brinker Elementary. The whole community has a great time at this spirited event.
This year we will be marching in the Windhaven neighborhood just north of Plano West High School. The band will start marching from Plano West Sr High at 9:30 am, will march in the areas roughly north of the senior high and Muehlenbeck Center, and will begin its concert at Brinker at approximately 1 pm.
If you want more information, would like to request songs, or be a donor/sponsor for the Prowl, please see the band website at https://planowestband.membershiptoolkit.com/wolfprowl See you on September 28th, and Go, Wolves!
