This Week's Recap....

Thank you to the parents who brought their children to sing last Sunday at worship. They did a great job. Pastor Bartels is sorry that he missed it, but he was called out of town to perform a funeral.

Our Middle school team for the Academic Olympics came in 3rd place out of 11 school last Saturday. We are very proud of them. Thank you to the teachers who worked with them in their subjects and to Mrs. Thompson for facilitating this competition.

Four of our 5th grade students participated in the ISSF 5th grade Team Spelling Bee competition this week. It is the first time that we have competed in this competition. There were 21 teams from very affluent schools from around the county and I am very proud to say that our team came in 7th place! We are very proud of them!!!

MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS...If you are planning to send your student on the middle school trip and have not paid the deposit, the deadline is Friday. On Friday a decision will be made to go forward or not based on the number of forms turned in with deposits. If you made a deposit and the trip is cancelled, your deposit will be returned. If you made a deposit and the trip goes forward, you are committed to going through with the trip and the full payment. If you have questions, please call Mrs. Trujillo at 305 893 0851 or email

On Thursday, we will be distributed 1st Quarter Academic Awards to students in 3rd through 8th grade who earned Honor Roll or Princpal's list. We will do this at the end of chapel. Parents are invited to attend. See the list below.

Looking ahead... our PK through K5 classes will be performing in their Thankgiving program on Tuesday, November 20th beginning at 9AM. If your child is in one of these classes, please arrange your schedule so that you can attend.

Please read this article

I came across this article and wanted to share it. I think it has an important message to all of us. Every day, I see parents on their phone when they are dropping their children off in the morning and when they are picking their children up at the end of the day. The reality is that our kids spend alot of time watching their parents scroll on their phones.
