Superintendent's Report
August 26, 2019
From the Desk of Dr. Steve Yanni...
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year - Earlier today we welcomed all of our staff back to school. This week's professional learning experiences focus on teaching and learning, creating conditions for ALL students to be successful, and on collaborating with colleagues in the best interests of our students. We will be well prepared to welcome all of our students back to school next Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
Infinite Campus: Student Schedules and Transportation Information - As the community knows, students' schedules are available in Infinite Campus. Transportation information is available, too. Please note that transportation information may change between now and August 31st.
Focus Area for SY 2019-2020: The Opportunity Gap - Children learn when they have opportunities to learn. When denied those opportunities, they fall behind, and we get the devastating achievement gaps. But when they are provided with rich opportunities to learn, they thrive, and the achievement gaps close. We are analyzing all of our practices, procedures, and protocols to determine how best to help every student realize success.
All Hazards Plan - On the agenda this evening is a motion for the Board to accept the All Hazards Plan (AHP). The AHP is a confidential, internal document that articulates all of our safety and security plans. The acceptance this evening is a procedural step for our Safe Schools process.
Stakeholder Survey - Many thanks to all stakeholders who have taken the time to complete the stakeholder survey sent out several weeks ago. Please click here to complete the survey if you have not already done so.
Kudos - Many thanks to everyone who worked throughout the summer in preparing our buildings and grounds for the new school year. The finished products are the efforts of many! Thank you all!
