SISTER CITY HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
This June, we have an opportunity for families to host Sister City visitors from Zabierzow, Poland as they take part in our bi-annual student exchange. Below you will find information about the trip and the responsibilities that families take on when they host. Each year, this exchange offers a truly life changing experience for many of our students and families as they get to open their homes to middle school students from the other side of the world. We are thrilled to be able to continue to offer this opportunity and we appreciate your consideration!
Trip Details:
- Our Polish visitors will arrive on June 5 and depart on June 15.
- They are from Zabierzow, Poland—a longtime sister city of Camas.
- The Polish students will spend days either with their host students at school, or on field trips to local sites.
- The weekend schedule is open for experiences with host families.
- Following their visit to Camas, the Polish students will travel for some sightseeing in Seattle.
- All students have some English language skills, though it does vary in level.
- Students are typically 11-15 years old.
- 14 students and 5 adults will be visiting.
Family Responsibilities:
- Must be able to house at least TWO students (we pair them up so they have some familiarity).
- Need to provide transportation to and from school each day (they won’t necessarily be able to take the bus with your child).
- Provide meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
- Showcase Camas and our surrounding communities!
- Exchange small gifts with students you host (they’ll bring you many as well J).
- Host parents must complete district “Volunteer Paperwork”.
If you would like to host, please fill out this survey by April 25th to be considered: https://forms.gle/cfcdBsUAEbGDXss88
Should your family be selected, we will have an informational meeting on May 2nd at 5:00PM at Liberty Middle School.
